“Of them is he who saith: Grant me leave (to stay at home) and tempt me not. Surely it is into temptation that they (thus) have fallen. Lo! hell, verily is all around the disbelievers.”

Briefly, the meaning of the verse, the hypocrites that whom say to the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) permit us to leave the Jihad and stay away from the believer’s army that go with messenger of Allah for fighting the Rome’s army in Tabuk battle and this will justify that mandating in Jihad will make them fall in transgression. By violating the legitimate matter will lead to sedition of the religion and Allah will respond them that their deceiving act made them fell in the sedition of the religion and have done a great sin. The noble verse exposes a hypocrite matter that some of believers that go along with their whims and their most concern is satisfying their selfishness and when they need to avoid their social-personal responsibilities so as not doing their duties towards the religion as well as the nation or to achieve personal earnings and by that they adduce excuses using religious titles by pretending in chastity and fear to the religion for the sake of persuading and deceiving other people “they beguile none, but themselves and they perceive not” [Al-Baqara:9].

 In testament to that, we can recall the incident where the honorable verse according to the specialists and historians that the messenger Mohammed (peace be upon him) when he went to Bilad Al-sham for the Rome’s meeting that they want to raid and eradicate the Islam, the messenger decided to go to face them, and he urged them for Jihad. Big numbers of cities civilians and Arabs’ tribes where they just entered to Islam and became Muslims. Some of the hypocrites of Muslims like Al-Jad Bin Qais, he was one of the Salma Bin Banton Al-Khazraj and also one of the hypocrites, ”O’ Abi Wahab, wouldn’t you turnoff with us from those raiders?” He said to the messenger of God “ O’ the messenger of God, there is no man admire women like me and I’m afraid to go out with you and to be impatient if I will be seeing the Rome’s women and I will ask you to give the permission to have a residence there.” He also spoke to other group of people “Don’t go out in this hot climate” His son replied his father by saying “you say whatever you would like to say and responding the prophet!, then you say to your people not to go out in this hot weather? I hope the God will send to us a verse in this Holy Quran in order to be mentioned forever to be read by the whole Muslims till the Judgement Day. Thus, the verse came and it says “Of them is He who say: Grant me leave (to stay at home) and tempt me not. Surely it is in to temptation that they (thus) have fallen. Lo! Hell verily is all around the disbelievers.” Al-Jid Bin Qais said “Does Mohammed think that the battle with the Rome is like other battles? No one will come back survived.”

 

     This man claimed that he was afraid on his religion even if the messenger of Allah will give him an order for jihad or he was afraid of leaving his family so as his money therefore he asked a permission from the messenger of Allah in order to fall in any infractions, but by his weakness and his duplicity he got himself in sedition that he alleged to avoid.

 

Another verse in Quran shows as if blaming the prophet on his given permissions concerning failure to Jihad, but firstly it presented to him praying in forgiveness “Allah has pardoned you, [O Mohammed, but] why did you give them the permission [to remain behind]? [you should not have] until it was evident to you  who were truthful and you knew [who were] the liars.” [At-Tawbah: 43]. 

If he did not give them the permission until their resolve exposed on violating of doing their duties even if the prophet Mohammed gives them the order to go forth. In order not to make this permission as if it is a cover for committing this great disobedience “if they had intended to go forth, they would have prepared for it.” [At-Tawbah: 46]. Ali Bin Ibrahim narrated in his interpretation on Imam Al-Baqer (peace be upon him) ‘Get to know the people of excuse who sat for no excuse.’

 

     By this speech which is directed to the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), is to alert the nation that these kind of excuses God know about them, but the morality of the prophet sees that this group of people will damage the Mujahedeen’s army “Had they gone forth with you, they would not have increased you except in confusion, and they would have been active among you, seeking [to excuse] you fitnah [i.e., chaos and dissention]. And among you are avid listeners to them. And Allah is knowing the wrongdoers.” [At-Tawbah: 47]. The Almighty Allah let the prophet to act in accordance with his moral dignity, and then to put down what exposes those hypocrites, and then to achieve by the divine script if the prophetic act had not been performed before.

 

     As for the seriousness of this sedition (fitnah), God postponed the alert after the circumstances of the battle. If it was not the Prophet Mohammed’s wisdom, the hypocrites could have spread the fitnah among the society because he covered it by religion frame which most of the people will be deceived by “…and among you are avid listeners to them” [At-Tawbah: 47]. Some are excused for Jihad and some are laggards. Neither with hesitation nor with discuss, the truthful believers were out in front for the God’s and the prophet obedience “Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day would not ask permission of you to be excused from striving [i.e. , fighting] with their wealth and their lives. And Allah is knowing of those who fear Him” [At-Tawbah: 44].

 

       This perverse state of escape from responsibility, justification for violating the orders of the Almighty God and harnessing the religious interfaces to collect personal interests exists at all levels, the most serious of which is what happened after the departure of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), where the coups d'état (coup-makers) justified their violation of the Messenger of God.

       In his will to the Prince of the believers (Imam Ali), that they fear discord if they order Imam Ali and do not confront the power and the succession of the prophet (peace be upon them). They say ‘Quraish hated to meet you, which means Bani Hashim, of prophecy and Caliphate and to disadvantage people and they say ‘Quraish chose for itself and they succeeded.’ The honorable verse as if it shows the intentions of the coup-makers and what they wanted to do approximately two years ago before the incident. Allah exposed their numerous attempts in hiding the truth, but Allah unfold it and completed it in Al-Ghader Day “they had already desired the dissension before and had upset matters for you until the truth came and the ordinance [i.e., victory] of Allah appeared, while they were averse.” [At-Tawbah: 48]. So the truth came the victory of Allah appeared in Al-Ghadeer Day and they were hatred and stubborn “…..and whose hearts have doubted and they, in their doubt, are hesitating.” [At-Tawbah: 45].

Dears, these things mentioned by Fatima (peace be upon her) “When Allah chose a house for his prophets, hypocrisy appeared in you” and then she said “by the fear of Fitnah you alleged, by fitnah you fell and hell is full of unbelievers.” How could you do this and the holy Quran among us, its laws are clear and prosperous and valuable. All of which you put behind “wretched for the wrongdoers as an exchange” [Al-Kahf: 50].  “And whoever desires other than Islam as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers” [Al-Imran: 85]. Fatima (peace be upon her) showed the hazard of sedition that they made and she said “not accepted to those who attempt to change the rules of the message so as the rules of the prophecy and the evidence and the fallen souls of the good people in the matters of life and religion, “he is a clear loser”. Fatima (peace be upon her) showed a clear image because by their actions they fell in Fitnah and if they alleged to protect the nation, their deep fake allegations and their true intentions, their great offence that effect on the present and the future of the nation. This coup has dragged the nation from the scourge of religion, bloodshed, waste of money, wickedness, displacement of righteous people, loss of human values and principles, etc.

The leaders of the coup acknowledged that what had happened in the shed had been a rip-off of the nation and led to its perversion through righteousness, but they claimed that it went peacefully. Omar said in his well-known words that transmitted among the historian and in (Kitab Al-sair) “that to a pledge of allegiance of Abi Baker was something not good that Allah it away and those who called you for, execute him.” Ibn Al-Ather in the meaning of Al-Hadeeth (sudden occurrence and like this pledge of allegiance is igniting evilness by God willing we will be protected, (falta) means any acts that occur or done with unawareness fearing from spreading widely). 

 

They instilled this idea in the people’s minds to lose the truth from people, but the imams claimed to reveal it. Sheikh Al-Kleeni narrated about Abi Al-Muqdam and said ‘I told Abi Jafar Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), people alleged that the pledge of the allegiance (Bayaah) for Abi Baker, where people met was a satisfactory for Allah (the most glorious) and Allah is never to strife Mohammed’s nation after him. Abo Jafar Al-Sadiq said “didn’t they know Allah’s words ‘Mohammed is not ubt a messenger.[other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.’” [Al-Emran: 144]

 

Any more incongruous than the incompetent response to the leadership of the nation and the domination of people at that time and at every time by deception, misinformation, military coups, fraudulent elections or the use of political money stolen from the people's power. Corruption and decay spread, people's wealth was stolen, their dignity squandered, forbidden blood spilled, chaos wreaked, order and security disrupted, social justice lost and the country wreaked havoc. It was this group that failed to perform its duties that faced the Prince of the believers, (Imam Ali peace be upon him) when he used to exhort them to the valiant jihad with flimsy excuses of heat and cold, Imam Ali exposed them and revealed the truth of their hypocrisy by saying that “When I ask you to move against them in summer you say it is hot weather. Spare us till heat subsides from us. When I order you to march in winter you say it is severely cold; give us time till cold clears from us. These are just excuses for evading heat and cold because if you run away from heat and cold, you would be, by Allah, running away (in a greater degree) from sword (war). The strife of these justifications are more serious when it is wrapped in a religious, as in the case of these hypocrites mentioned in the verse, they want to distinguish between the messenger and the message and disobey the messenger. They claim that it is their eagerness to abide by the message, as if they were their fear of discord or their claim to those who hold the shed, their fear of society from ripping apart as if they are more knowledge than the messenger and as if they accuse him that he does not want the reformation of the nation, or they more knowledge than Allah in people interests and more careful than Allah on the regulations of the religion.  

“Would you acquaint Allah with your religion while Allah knows whatever is on the earth, and Allah is knowing of all things?” [Al-Hajarat: 16].

Allah remind them that their intentions is so obvious to him and he distinguish between facts and allegations “Allah knows the corrupter from the amender” [Al-Baqarah: 220]. Fatimah (peace be upon her) ended her warning as it mentioned in this verse “Hell is full of unbelievers.” They are surrounding by fire from all directions and cannot get rid of it. (Surrounding by fire) refers that they are actually in Hell by their sins which they committed. They do not feel anything like other facts that they are unaware of them “You were certainly in unmindfulness of this and we had removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp.” t could mean that the infidels are truly mighty to this result. The expression in the name of the actor benefits from the fact that this result is now or in the future.

Or to tell them what the reasons are, that is, that they are now surrounded by the causes of the sins of hell “Yes, [on the contrary], whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him – those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.” [Al-baqarah: 81]. Their sins surrounded them on the level on intentions and acts.

The case which the verse warn about does not have any specializations about Jihad, but all of the legitimate responsibilities. Those who have less faith in their hearts give excuses that marketing them with religious titles and you found those have knowledge on fiqh (Jurisprudence) then they will be wrapped it with religious terms. Their excuses and their intentions cannot be hidden and they are too obvious to Allah. By Allah’s willing prevent us from fitna (strife).
